One of my Christmas gifts to M this year was a tour of Dunnington Mansion in Farmville, VA. We both love unique, peculiar locations to photograph and having done a photo tour of The President's Heads with John Plashal, I knew this would be a great opportunity for us!
So one day in January we packed up our gear and drove out to Farmville for 24hrs. We stayed in a very cool Airbnb and had breakfast the next morning at the local Waffle House. We can't say enough good things about John's photo tours. If you like to photograph old, decaying things and places....he's the one to see!
Below is how I saw the day -- I originally planned to shoot the entire event in black and white, but once I got there I realized that the light demanded color too! So, you'll see a mix of both.
