Dear Summer, It's Not You...It's Me

Dear Summer, It's Not You...It's Me

The weather channel says hot, humid and rainy. My brain says crisp, colorful and dry:) This time of the year in Coastal Virginia is brutal. You'd think after living here for so long that I wouldn't complain...but each and every year it's the same mantra; "I'm moving to Maine where it's cool!"  Alas, I'm still here:)

It's during these hot, sticky, ohmygodicantbreathe months that I like to daydream of cooler temps. Crisp fall days, colorful foliage, babbling brooks and hikes to see waterfalls. Almost 2 years ago we took an October trip to Asheville, NC. I can't believe I haven't shared these images yet; but then again I can believe it! I'm inconsistent here at best...!

So, if like me you are yearning for Fall and all it brings, please enjoy these images from our time in the Pisgah National Forest. I hope it brings you some much needed relief and a reminder that fall is just 74 days, 6 hours, 58 minutes and 48 seconds away;)
