A Song, A Book, A Quotes, A Look

A Song, A Book, A Quotes, A Look

Happy Sunday!! It's so beautiful outside today...I can't stand it! I'm going to post this and then heading out into the warmth and sunshine:) Life is good.... Work is challenging as always and I'm keeping super busy. I've been tackling my health the past few weeks and I think I might be turning the corner. My blood pressure was dangerously high and with the help of some medication, it's come down almost 40 points in just 2.5 weeks! Amazing! Next up is taking my weigh head on over the next 12 months. If I'm unable to lose at least 75 lbs by next June, I'm going to look into plan B. I'll elaborate more on that later.... ;)

For this installment of SBQL, I'm channeling my boho look, creative dreaming, country music and the purple prince;)

:: Song :: 80's Mercedes by Maren Morris
:: Book :: Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert
:: Quote :: Lyrics from Kiss by Prince
:: Look :: Denim, over-sized sweaters and leather sandals

Something strange happened about 3 weeks ago. I started listening to country music. Like, every day. Our news cycle is 24/7 and honestly, quite depressing. Then I would turn on popular, current radio and the music just left me.....stressed. So, I popped over to the XM Sirius station The Highway one day and it's been like a breath of fresh air. New music, new artists and the music is generally light, airy and sometimes playful. Just what the doctor ordered:)

Elizabeth Gilbert is one of my favorite writers. "Eat, Pray, Love" is just so good that I new after seeing several positive reviews, that her newest prose would be great! This book is about finding your creative center and reaching for the stars. As a bonafide creative....it's speaking to me on so many levels. I'm slowing getting into it....a few pages each nite. Savoring everything that she has to offer....such a great read:)

Prince. What more can I say other than I'm so, so sad that he passed. I grew up in the 70s and 80s and listened to him a lot. I always liked him but it wasn't until my later, more adult years that I really started to appreciate his music and the genius musician that he is. There was a fragility and boldness in him....a sort of ying and yang that co-existed in this tiny being. There won't be anyone like him for a long while, and I think that's the way it should be.

Jeans and sandals. I think that's going to be my uniform this entire summer. I decided this spring that comfort was the key to dressing during the warmer seasons. I won't be buying anything that super structured or tight. It gets crazzzzyyyyy hot and humid her in coastal VA and I'm not going to fight it this year. Right now, we're getting some warm days and then cool nights....so the sweaters are coming in very handy!

Thanks for stopping by today....I hope this coming week is everything you want it to be! I'm heading out to visit my sister and take her out for a belated birthday lunch....shrimp tacos and margaritas!!!!

Stay Blessed,
Jenn
